Well Marty was right the Smallie Bite was off but we had a good day pushing and pulling Beetles's Star Raft through the low water on the New River. John recently acquired that raft and in fact this turned out to be it's maiden voyage under new ownership. John's friend Brian filled the back seat and after working out the shuttle we were on our way downstream from the 21 Bridge.

We all manages to catch a handful of fish a piece and Brian even managed to coax a few to hit the top water!

I'm still try to work out the kinks in my casting the TFO 8 weight and my be seeking "professional development" in this area.

Clousers and crayfish patterns brought most of the fish to hand....

here's a sampling of the day....

Thanks John and Brian it was a pleasure! I'm ready to go anytime!

We actually saw a little frost on the ground just before Sparta.  The truck said it was 34 outside.  Brrrr.  Despite the low water and cold weather putting the fish off until afternoon, we had a great time.  The day was perfect (probably too perfect) and we saw kingfishers, ospreys and a fully mature bald eagle.  Pretty impressive.  Thanks WB- looking forward to the next one
