Made it out  late Saturday to a local pond. Lots of 'whirly gig' top water 'chunkers' splashing on both sides of me. My little 4 wt. was the only thing catching fish.   My  hand tyed flies beat the 'whirly gig' guys while they watched. Blue gills danced on the end of my line. However their 'whirly gigs' did make a pretty good wake, for whatever that was worth.    ;D
Times fun when you're having flies.

just because you got a fly rod, doesn't mean you'd catch fish...as in my case.   ;D

sat. was a good day for fishing.  glad you got out.
when's a newbie no longer a newbie...
