Ring, ring.
Brian (Troutfanatic) rang/messaged me.
"Going down to the PFF extravaganza. Wanna meet up and fish?"
I proposed a river, plans were made.
I meet the vet, newly a PA grad, a major dude and we caught some feesh.

Last Thursday.
The morning was cool, the fishing started slow.
The sun hit the water, and it progressed into a dry fly day.

I took a little tumble,
and my new Simms wading staff took the brunt of the fall.
Lets see how their warranty/replacement works out.

All in all, a good day.
Good times with Brian.
No injuries. Fishes lost, fishes caught.
 :cheers

Good to see him out and about. Hope he is doing well. Pass along my well wishes next time you talk to him

Al

I get sloppy seconds - he is coming by to fish with me for bass on Monday after he goes to Ft Bragg to get outfitted for a uniform so he can march in his new hometown's Memorial Day Parade.

ex - I'm not going to live with you through one more fishing season!
me -There's a season?

I also have a Simms wading staff that I like (except no built in zinger).  You must have really cracked your ass to do that to it!

Hope you feel better soon.  :wave

When fishing, a person ought to carry a flask of whisky in case of snakebite. Furthermore, he ought to also carry along a small snake.

Basically the stance they started taking on their boots a few years ago.

Quote from: troutrus on May 18, 2021, 19:12:46 PMGlad I purchased a Folstaf. Unfortunately I still haven't used it. 😩

Had a Folstaff (actually, trout_girl uses now), but it was and is, a pain to break down if used heavily.  Waxing the shafts helps (as it always does I suppose V:; ), but found the Simms is easy to assemble and breakdown and has saved my sorry ass numerous times.

I wasn't hurt at all. Staff was only casualty.
Old ski pole was back in action today.

The Folstaffs can be hard to get apart, but are fairly sturdy. Pass on Simms.

Custom Riversticks are a bargain at 95.00.  You won't be able to break it.  See pics on entry 30 and contact info for Rick Humphrey, maker, in entry 29.  Superb.  Bargain at twice the price.

Other good staffs are made by Sharpes in Scotland.   Made for wading Salmon rivers, they are very durable, and overkill for smaller streams.
