Fishin been fuego lately.  Had a bunch of fruitless trips in Jan-Feb and much of March was blown TF out around me.  This particular stream holds big browns but they can act like musky, many times you wouldnt think there was fish in this river.  Couple weeks ago, with perfect conditions and at least a mile covered, i managed two, the biggest being this one.

I tied one fly for the trip, the swimmy jimmy.  I figure no better time to try out a "hovering" fly on a sink tip than with all the spring bugs coming off.  I saw caddis, quills, and tons of midges but no risers.  Didnt matter, Swimmy Jimmy produced.

I "trespass" down a driveway of a vacation home for a while from the bridge/parking spot and then walk at least a quarter mile on a streamside trail before dropping in.  Didnt take long for this handsome little surprise rainbow to eat.

Proof of successful spawns.

Missed several short strikes and finally connected on this piggie.  This fish came out of the water straight up with my streamer on the eat, and somehow did not come unbuttoned.  It was the coolest streamer eat ive ever had.

Waded past a pool that haunts me, huge fish ate last fall and came off, this time no takers.  Kept Truckin

Nymphed a while and only caught one horney head.  When i got back up to the pool that haunts me, i tied on a boogieman and started combing through the run...

This bastard here, PB on this water and damn fine brown anywhere.

Clouds came over the ridge quick and i even put out an APB to Grayson/Braden/Granny of my situation and whereabouts.  Got soaked but somehow didnt get electrocuted.  Hail shortly followed.

Hell yeah!

It has been 10 since fishing down there.  I'm very pleased to see this stream is alive and kicking. Been wondering about her in recent years.
