I think the first record of paying for a good screw dates back to the Sumerians around 2400 B.C.. Fun fact = Sumerian word for female prostitute is kar.kid.
There were legal brothels in ancient Greece and the cost for 1 screw was 1 obole, which is approximately ½ denier. A denier was a medieval penny. So, 9 cents would get you around 18 screws in ancient Greece.
We need to consult Doug and persuade him to come clean on where he's getting his cheap screws. Not that I would take advantage of such bargain prices for such services, but I hate to miss a good deal. He is clearly on to something, a discovery that defies the laws and history of inflation. A 9-cent screw; come on man!!!
I haven't calculated the true cost of all of the premarital/marital screws.
