Bo Diddley, dammit!

1957. How many times has this been covered?  :o

I started scouting new streams back in December. The catching has been midling.
Found some potential gooduns, though. But the last four have been brutal.

I did one solo. Total skunkage. Euro'd. Know they are there. Missed two good fish. Lost about 8 flies.  :o
Need to go back to the slippery MF with more studs in the boots and a wading staff.
No pics. Hotspotters heaven.

Did a blitz of three with Fin. Burned up some backroads for three streams we'll probably not miss saying goodbye to. Weird drainages, rhodo hells, beaver ponds that never appeared. We barely avoided the skunk.

With a hee, and a ho, I went back to what I know.
Got a late start. just as well, started foggy. Had the new to me Scott glass from Mudwall. The stream to myself. Wet wading. Water temp was 53.

Puttyroot Orchid.

The Scott is a bit faster than my vintage or modern Echo glass. I blew some hook sets, launched some punes, had some LDR's, SDR's, muffed pics. Blew through about 6 fish before I got a pic. The browns were showing up early and often.

Not great numbers, or size. Never got completely dialed in.
Stuck and lost a couple of good ones. Meh.

A lovely day in the woods.
And a wee bit of redemption.

 :cheers

I've seen and searched for many beaver ponds in VA and WV.
I'm convinced you need to go way north to find undisturbed beavers and colder water.
I'm not enabling your GPS wandering mind.

Lots of beaver ponds here. Instead of trout you only find pickerel and/or gar
