Woolly Bugger

The addiction of swinging the fly. I went back to the new hoping that the wind and crowds would be less on a Monday.
Crowds gone but the wind continued to blow down stream. My best cast is double spey and I'm still having limited success with casting over the left shoulder. Water was farily clear and running at 490, balls to chest deep wading. Casting the 7.5 heavy versileader (7 ips) Lost a couple of flies... one I snapped off on a terrible crack the whip cast and another got hung out in a deep slow run. Managed to catch 5 small smallies and only trout set on one! A few more grabs kept the evening interesting. I was worn out after three hours and my casting started to fall apart so I quit as the sun was leaving the water.

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Actually, this wouldn't have surprised me one bit.
