Desperate for a tug, I took the afternoon off and headed west to the Ditchell. I was cloudy and the rain was just spitting and it was quite warm. I walked on up to the beginning and fished from there back down to the parking lot. I failed to find a fish, but I did find an almost new bottle of Cliff Wonder Dust! I felt dirty and didn't really want to be there but I was out for a walk anyway.

and there was beer!

DH or not, I've been all over those ridges, fields, and that blasted river, too....basically, literally from the trickles that it begins as, to the Yadkin. My late uncle lived in a really old farm type house in those fields you photographed, the house has been bulldozed for years now....he took deer, fish, and anything else he wanted for his family's nourishment readily, and without worry of the season it happened to be. A crazy bastard he was....
