I'll give a shout out to Tranny, who told me to use a bigger dry on a tiny stream for the bigger brookies. He was right.
I used a huge nasty hair-wing dry fly.  #14 with #12 hackle. 
Sometimes an old dog can learn something from the young guns, maybe....
