That Alaska video is great!  It would be great to fish a place like Alaska where those fish probably haven't ever seen a fly.

She may very well be a denier, BUT she ain't the "original".

There's been deniers since the beginning of democratic elections.  Not up on my U.S. history but I believe Aaron Burr refused to take his VP spot when he and Thomas Jefferson tied with the weird election rules.  Hamilton supported TJ, TJ won, Burr shot Hamilton, 12th amendment resulted, etc.

There are no political originals living today.  Politics has always been a blood thirsty sport.

Full disclosure;

I was approached by a guy with trailer with some pine straw and he asked about me needing some. He went with the same spiel about counting cords and wouldn't commit on the number of bales needed for the yard.  I've purcheasd pine straw from the church fundraiser in the past so I had an idea of the number needs. I told him I would go for 20 @ $4.50 each --- he didn't have that many on the trailer and said he'd be back later in the day. He never returned...

FYI a Tractor Trailer load is 1280 bales, close to the amount Kelly was charged for.

one bale is supposed to cover aobu 44 sq ft.... 1200 x 44 = 53680 sq ft. or about 1 and a quarter acres....  :drum

In the case above, I would have paid the dude $1,100, take it or leave it.... I'm calling the po po
Title: Re: Video of the day
Post by: Trout Maharishi on January 19, 2023, 17:34:31 PM
Every bail has at least 2 strings. There are 43560 sq ft in 1 acre. I ain't counting strings, I wanna see a pile of bails to count and get your 100' tape out and give me an estimate in writing. If you can't figure it out I can. Pine straw is big business in NC. The last thing any of these con artist want is any contact with law enforcement. I'm with Keith, take it or leave it or I'm calling the PoPo. I learned the hard way over the years being in residential construction that there's no shortage of sad stories and con artists.

As a major brand, one would think that the marketing folks would attempt to be inclusive and target everyone of legal drinking age, in an effort to garner larger market share.

In this instance:
"The brand partnered with trans actor and activist Dylan Mulvaney, who has documented her transition in a viral "Days of Girlhood" TikTok series."

"This past weekend, she posted a video in which she was jokingly clueless about March Madness and revealed that she'd received a special Bud Light with her face on it — to celebrate Day 365, one full year since her journey began. Again, this was a single beer can with Mulvaney's likeness on it, and it didn't even appear on the grid: You had to look at her Instagram stories to see it."

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/kid-rock-buys-cases-bud-195334867.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall

So it seems the real story here might be, how did Kid Rock happen to come across this "ad".

What is inclusivity?  I hear this word a lot, but it seems to be only applicable to a select group.

Autistic people can drink

Those with Downs Syndrome can legally drink

Native Americans can drink.

Holy shit, real women can drink.

Inclusive is a woke buzz word, but really means tribal exclusivity per modern application.

While on the subject of inclusivity, why is it that Autistic kids are expected to be normal, receive therapy to be normal.  This is akin to conversion therapy for gays?  Anyone want to tackle this one?

I could have done a better job of that :P  I'm not trying to imply trans people are law breakers. I think the point I was trying to make was why single out and target such a small segment of the population? I think we all know the reason, but do we dare talk about it or address it in public? Trans people as far as I know are a very small segment of the population, one that I don't the average person identifies with. How many of the core demographic sought by InBev will be turned off and quit buying Bud Lite? Go woke, go broke still has some significance in marketing. I imagine beer drinkers more as NFL, hockey, fishermen, midget wrestling, baseball, and NASCAR types. Manly men damn it!  :cheers

The tobacco industry is not allowed to target minors.

My issue with the Trans movement is its influencing of minors.  Where is the line drawn in the sand concerning sexual abuse?

I am not that familiar with the so-called trans movement.  I vaguely remember one student years ago, from George Mason, in an aquatic insect training, that IDed as trans, who seemed to be quite normal in the context of a classroom/learning setting.

Perhaps we are engaging in a histrionic behavior where we are making too much of an insignificant matter.  I really don't know, but is this woke/trans stuff really that important? Particularly when you consider other challenges we might be facing.

IMO, there are greater concerns to consider when it comes to influencing our minors (lack of accountability/work ethic, rewards/trophies for simply participating, social media, mixed blessing of forced religion, drugs, gun violence, helicoptering, nutrition/fitness, xenophobia, environment, etc.).

Grandson #2 due tomorrow morning around 7am via c-section.  I be damned if I am concerned about woke or trans with him or his older brother.

And Ken will have to explain the relationship between trans (what little I know) and sexual abuse.  I am stumped.
