First salty trip for me this year. Been hearing reports of Bonita down around Wrightsville. Earlier in the week the weather reports looked good. 8kt 1-2 seas. The wife wanted to go, so and I wasn't going to turn her down.
Fishing was slow. Seas turned out to be 2 to 3's with many 4's mixed in. Only saw the Bonita come to the surface twice and couldn't get a fly to them in time. But a 2 ounce epoxy jig cast 50 yards will. We hooked up 5 times and only one made it to the boat. Did catch a albie as well. Which showed me that an albie fights twice as hard as a bonito. About 1pm I was tired of bucking the seas and we called it, and motored to a bar for some drinks.
Didn't take many pics do to fighting the waves.
