Hit the Smith from 10 - 12 and managed to get four. Caught a couple of browns and then a pair of rainbow. All were caught on Al's bug the Allieworm. The were a few small bugs coming off along with the occasional rise but I couldn't get any to hit on the surface. Probably would have caught more if I had another Allieworm cause after I lost the ones I had there was no more action. Fished the hayfield area for the first time. The fish especially the browns are bigger down here as compaired to closer to the dam. The four fish all were about 12" - 13" and the browns put up a much better fight.

How did you have time to fish and answer all the posts too? ??? Is there a WBII?  ;) Nice pic anyways.

Nice looking Bow Keith! Yep, the further one goes from the Dam the larger the trout seem to be, great report and glad you got to get out for a bit.

Did you happen to notice any old tires or tire rims in the river where you were? how did the banks look as far as trash build up?

Hey Woolybugger,  you must have liked the spot below the hayfields.  Your van was there when I went up to Woolwine this morning and it was still there when I came back.  If I new it was you I would have stopped an talked with you.  Glad you got some nice browns and good pictures.  Let me know when you go again.

Thanks for your help on that Keith ;) It's nice to hear people spotting and catching some nice sized trout on the Smith this year as well.

Nice shot. I just bought a digital, but I need more practice framing / setting up shots before I try to post.

One day I aspire to fish as much as Keith. Nice fish, I have yet to fish the smith, and it's closest to me ??? How does it fish through the winter?

shanktrout

Slower... but it's still fishes well and fewer people.
