Just wondering how many people mash the barb down on their flies. Much obliged.
Why? I just put foot on fish head and yank. Hook come right out 'c;
I do it mostly so that I never have to get one ripped out of my head or ass doused in liquid nitrogen. It flat out fucking hurts.
From the fishes stand point, they say thanks. Besides, its a fair game, unlike these fucking gear chunking holes who use treble hooks. I have caught some nasty looking muggins courtesy of some cockbite who "needed" his fag fly/lure back more than the decency to return the fish to live another day with some lip jewelry instead p;-

Yep, I've done same as Doug. They come out of your clothes easier as well ;D. Most of us are releasing the fish anyway so if one escapes prematurely it is not the end of the world.
