Title: Albies done
Post by: capt_gordon on December 03, 2005, 15:40:16 PM
You boys will probably want to go ahead and hang up your ten weights.  The shortest and thinnest albie run since I started fishing for them back in 96 has mercifully come to a close.

I didn't realize you had such a short window for them albies! I guess it makes catching one (or many) all that more rewarding. Congrats to those that did, those that tried, and those that'll be after 'em next year!  0--0

In years gone by I was able to target them fro the middle of October until after Thanksgiving.  In fact I actually built my business around it.  The past three years it hasn't gotten good until mid-November and has been over by Thanksgiving.  This year we had two weeks of decent fishing and only three days of what I would call really good fishing.  One of the prestigious guides was actually laughing about being booked up for the next five years straight and could not have cared less whether the fish were there or not (which they practically weren't for the whole month of October).  Not a lot of consideration for the folks who had to book a minimum number of days with him at over $500/day.  Needless to say he and I are not the best of friends.
