>>> Pilot Mountain State Park will begin shuttle service to the upper parking lot beginning Saturday, Aug. 22. The shuttle will allow more access to the popular mountain, reduce traffic in and around the park, and reduce waiting times for people visiting the mountain section.

The shuttle will run from the park's new visitor center parking lot to the upper parking lot of the park's mountain section from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Other vehicles will still be able to access the upper lot on all weekdays, and from 7-10 a.m. and 6-9 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

The shuttle service will cost $5 per adult for a round-trip, or $2 for a one-way trip. Children under 13 years old ride free.
