Woolly Bugger

Drove on up to the Shit Ridge on Thursday afternoon and visited with my friend Al, shot the shit and drank a few beers. Gofisher came along after a while and we were entertained by the old sage for a while before heading down to the river to set-up camp. Time Temperature sign read 103, damn that's hot! After setting up the shelter we cooled off in the Jackson. Gathright dam was releasing 279 cfs @ 59 degrees, that puts a pretty decent current down the river, as a matter of fact I think that this stretch of the river fishes better with a little less water, say around 200 or 225. We rigged up with nymphs and caught a few rainbows before sunset. Hot dogs and beer for dinner, clear skies offered excellent star gazing and the fog from the river cooled the evening air.

Perked up a pot of coffee and drank a cup before putting on the waders and wondering up to the deep fast hole. I never really got into the fish but did manage to bring a few to hand.

Waders off for the rest of the day, we got back on the water stopping only now and then for a beer or a sandwich.

Beetle drove on up in the afternoon, caught a few fish and then we all rode up Shit Ridge to bring FatAl on down to the river.

The old sage held court and we all listened to his stories until it was time to take him back home.

Sunrise at camp followed by some coffee and some more fishing.

In the heat of the afternoon we watched the flotillas go down the river, and we tried our best to get them to show us some titties...

Haven't been able to access the board for a couple days, don't know why but...
I enjoyed the trip WB and Beetle. Thanks for having us up FatAl, it sure was a grand time. I have a couple pics I'll toss up here in a bit but it looks like Woolley and Beetle captured it pretty well. Jeez, with the Tilley on, I look like I stepped out of a photo shoot for Fly Fishing Magazine!  Can't wait to hit it again guys.
