Caught some proper browns, and cooked up 31 (has to be a prime #) smaller ones for the crew and the rancher's family.
High plains flowers for Doug and Fin
Experienced some firsts:
Unique TP (gift of my rightie pals)
Gray Drakes (out the yin-yang)
Forest fire (up close and personal)
Wild horses
Peace.
Pretty fucking sweet.
excellent, thanks for bringing us that report, the way the west should be
That looks like a well deserved trip mudwall. That tp should be well stocked at your mountain home too. Good stuff.
Way to go Muddy.
Nice looking fish!
Excellent. I was thinking you hadn't been around lately.
It still amazes me the patterns that will take western browns. There would be hundreds of the Gray Drake spent-spinners on the water at times; some fish would take that pattern, others would require what I consider an off-the-wall fly – like the fly in the 1st browns mouth, the LD Cotton Pony, or the brighter pink HD Cotton Pony, or some humongous Wulff. Makes no darned sense!!!
I thought WY were Obummer loving stoners. I found out the hard way they love that twat in CA. Ugh. Browns look good brah. Kill em all!
Brown trout etc...that was done proper bugman! 'c;
Very nice, Mudders. 'c;
Yeller flowers, not sure. Maybe Smoothstem blazingstar, Mentzelia laevicaulis.
Blue is Delphinium nuttalliannum, Two Lobed Larkspur.
Yes, yes, yes!
Three of the best pictures so far this year:
Toilet paper
Camp fire browns
Hatch
Good stuff Mud.
Very nice, some awesome country out there! Don't like seeing all those feral horses, but what are you going to do... Let me know if your rancher friend has too many antelope on his place, in spite of some of the wives tales, they are mighty fine eating.
Wild country for sure.
Super awesome! Bet you had a blast.
Been seven years since I was out that way, and I am itching to go back.
What part were you in?
