The Helix waders were an upgrade from my first LL Bean waders which failed in the crotch early on. I had to pay for the upgrade, can't remember what the difference was, but I think it was around 100 bucks.
While the Helix was better than what I had before, I never really liked the fit, which was too big, and the wading belt was cumbersome and had huge tag ends in the front. The shoulder buckles, while streamlined, ended up breaking and the booties leaked. Now that we're moving into winter, I've sent them back for replacement with the newer Helix II, which happenes to be on sale... $50 off http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/73161?feat=sr&term=helix+ii (http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/73161?feat=sr&term=helix+ii)
Don't know if there will be a charge or not, but I'm sure that my feet will be dry for this season !

I think I would bite the bullet and move on to a different brand and keep the new Helix as a back up.

Woolly, I have known you to wear porno pant waders forever. Imagine how difficult it's gonna be to take a piss with that extra chest portion in the way of your pecker. May be time to get that catheter like TP has up his japs eye.
