That looks like tough wading conditons. :o  Nice fish, though.  You had a lot of trouble doing that here in NC....  (love your stripping basket  ;D )

Thanks for keeping that Wooly...usually mine are the ones getting tossed ;)

Basically I spent 4 years trying to catch Albies from shore in NC. I'd go so far as to say I was the most knowledgable Albie angler who had never actually landed one ;D. I had some phenomenal boat fishing out on the "Double Haul" with some great people and we were fortunate enough to nail a ton of them around Cape Lookout, but never from shore.... :'(

So fast forward to last weekend....
I drove down to RI where I've been targetting bonito/big blues/stripers etc... from shore and actually ran into a group of guys I had originaly met out on the hook in NC!!! So right away I knew I had some luck going my way. To make a long story short.... me being the fine angler I am.... I landed two and called it an early day. Unbelievable fish..... truly mind boggling. Landing one of these from shore is like hitting the lottery because it simply doesn't happen very often. I am very happy right now and have been re living those fights for the past week. This weekend I will return lol.

Paul...Stripping basket cost me under 3 dollars to make! I did have some trouble if your talking about hooking into one but by no means was any of it a waste, I'd do it all over again. Actually in all that time I spent on the spit I only witnessed a single angler actually hook up. That goes to show you how happy I am right now!
