I did a little scouting this morning on a north-sloper I've been itching to check out.  Patience got the best of me, and I couldn't wait until warmer weather so I figured what the hell.  Water was a little chilly to say the least, 46 down low and 44 where I stopped and called it quits.  I hooked into a few dinks down low, and either I ran out of talent or the fish were just shut down up higher.  Bug life was good, gradient was sick, and there were huge ass boulders and rock walls all over the place.  Everything just seemed to be on such a large scale, so I went a little picture crazy, as you'll see.  I may wait until later in the season before I give up on this one for good, not dis-satisfied enough to not go back...

Speaking of kids...I was a wee little lad back then.  So did you hike the entire AT?

I'm sure there are some leave no trace purists that would feel compelled to take down those cairns I saw, but I left them alone.

Can't wait to get you up here to SNP, you are gonna catch some of these big brookies and forget about that slow fishing... -0-

I trample all cairns! No cairn is safe. One kick at the base does it. It's a rush. I could care less about 'leave no trace' with regard to cairns, they're just fun to destroy.
