I've been struggling to find the time and the energy to upload this report, it just suddenly seemed so meaningless. I got down to the Holy City (Charleston, SC) last week to get out off the beaches and look for some critters to tug on with a friend of mine. I haven't always had the best weather when I've fished with this dude, but this time, we got a couple of good sunny days with near flat calm conditions, and were able to make the most of it. Pretty much every pattern we took a stab at worked out. Did some stuff for shits and giggles. Put a bonita on the boat with a 5wt. Put a blacktip on the same rod (intentionally) for about 20 sec. Fell in love with (of all things) a 10wt Ugly Stik. Shit guides, but a casting feel that this trout bitch kinda digs, and every bit as unbreakable as their reputation suggests. I've heard complaints that they don't have the backbone to fight fish well, but I bent out two carbon steel 6/0 hooks on sharks and broke a line core trying to keep an amberjack away from the wreck; that baby has all the backbone you can actually use and then some.

Haven't seen many protests around here, until yesterday, I-40 / Wendover Ave. were shut down and ironically police routed traffic around the protested streets.
