Anybody catching shad yet?

First reports on the Potomac came in about a week ago; hickories, Americans, and a few stripers are already here.  The water is unseasonably low and clear...remarkably different than this time last year.

Two buddies called this morning saying they'd gotten into them pretty good, so I made a point to get to the river later in the day.  I only had about an hour to fish. One smallie saved the skunk..but planning to get back after it tomorrow.

Let me know if you wanna hit the Potty with the raft this year. I would love to get after the shad.Maybe worth a hookie day.
I ain't here for a long time. I'm here for a good time.

That smallie isn't too bad for a by-catch -0-

Most definitely, one the better smallies I've caught on this river.

Rob, would be happy to take you up on a float, wherever it is.   ;D

Got out today, wind was a serious issue.  But got on the scoreboard.

Let me know how that goes for you TC.  The shad run on the Rapp is 10 times more fun than up here on the Potomac, so I'd like to make it down there sometime this season before it ends.

Finally got 'em dialed in today.  Can't get enough of these colors.

Finally made it out for my first fishing trip of he year.  Had a good time with my  15 year old son.  Wading wasn't too difficult and after a little while had the first tug of the year.  The bite never really turned on but ended up with a half dozen to handn and my son 4 with atleast that many LDR's for our first trip to the Rapp this year.  Once the darkness ran us off the river we still made it to local BBQ joint before closing.

Yes!  Good stuff TC.   'c;

I made it down there today, but not for fishing.  Wishing, I'd gotten my Allman's fix, but Carl's will suffice.
