Crappie anglers busted with 152 fish over the limit

>>>Apparently, a statewide daily creel limit of 30 crappie was not sufficient for two anglers at Mississippi's Enid Lake.

Authorities on Thursday announced that after receiving a recent call regarding "suspicious activity" at the lake, an officer encountered two individuals in possession of 152 crappie over the limit.

The bust was carried out by Cpl. Brian Tallent of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. The unidentified anglers also were charged with game violations.

Angler hooks big fine

Lower Mainland man fined $575 for using barbed hook to catch steelhead

f you are going to go fishing for steelhead, follow the rules or pay the price.

A Lower Mainland angler learned that lesson the hard way, at the expense of his bank account.

A post on the BC Conservation Officers Facebook page said officers were patrolling the AlouetteRiver where they checked three steelhead anglers and found one man using a barbed hook – which is not allowed.

The angler was issued a federal contravention ticket to the tune of $575.

Four men ordered to pay $50,000 in 'disturbing poaching case'

>>>In what was described as one of the most disturbing poaching cases in recent history, four men were sentenced in Montana's 16th Judicial District Court in Garfield County for their roles in unlawfully taking 48 game animals, bringing a close to an investigation that began in 2014.

In a plea bargain, Richard LeBlanc of Rhode Island, Marc Federico of Rhode Island, Stephen Schenck of Massachusetts and William Mathews of Florida were jointly and individually ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution and received six-month suspended jail sentences, the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks announced Wednesday.

LeBlanc's hunting, fishing and trapping privileges were suspended for 10 years, while Federico, Schenck and Mathews' privileges were suspended for eight, seven and two years, respectively.

Try harder.   You'll need a JDAM to penetrate this shell.   I'm retreating as much as I can from the online bullshit.    See:  Adult Onset ADHD

Glasgow fishermen broke lockdown rules to poach salmon on River Spey

Two Glasgow fishermen who flouted lockdown rules to travel to Speyside for a day of poaching salmon have each been fined and had their fishing gear seized.

Joel Julienne and Barry McKinlay were caught by a water bailiff while fishing without a permit on the popular stretch of the River Spey near Craigellachie on April 11 2021.

It came at a time when Covid-19 restrictions meant people weren't allowed to travel outwith their local authority area.

After being caught by the bailiff, they fled the scene and were eventually pulled over by police 11 miles north of Craigellachie on the A941 near Birkenhills outside Elgin.

Summarising their behaviour, Sheriff Olga Pasportnikov said: "I guess they took a trip up to do some fishing during lockdown then ran for it when caught."

Watch: World Champion Goose Caller Sent to Prison After This Video of Flock-Shooting Snow Geese from Truck
"He admitted to shooting those [80] geese. He also made a statement that they should have shot more"

A Maryland-based waterfowl guide and eight-time world champion goose caller was sentenced to 90 days in prison on Sept. 8 for violating his probation and outfitting without a license. The prison sentence for Josh Neuwiller, who owned Wye East Outfitters, was handed down in U.S. District Court in Salisbury, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Federal prosecutors pointed to a pattern of "exploitive and unethical practices" that Neuwiller has engaged in since at least 2016, when USFWS law enforcement agents obtained this video of Neuwiller and others, presumably clients, flock-shooting more than 80 snow geese from his truck.
