Went out for a 3 hour fish to see what the water was like -- rolling a bit high for this little stream, but clear. Nymphs were the ticket, caught 15 or more and LDR'd lots more. No net, so lotso fish squirted out of the hand before pics. Note to self -- bring yer durn net! A bluebird sky day, warm, and great to be out!

3 fish in that last hole surprised me for sure. Fine as far as I'm concerned.

Good on ya Phil.  Glad someone is hitting the small streams still.

Phil

J, you were mentioning keeping rainbows in Yallerhammer's Smokies thread -- Boy, I caught more rainbows yesterday than I've ever seen in that little brookie stream. Year before last was the first time I've ever even caught ONE there.

Sadly when bows get into a small stream they seem to spread quickly.  The stream Hiner gets me access on had a few rainbows pop up in the headwaters a few years ago.  Last time I fished it, we were catching a scary number of rainbows.

Good going Mr. Lucky, good post high water catching. I have rented a cottage in Boone for the month and hope we can get together (at a safe distance of course) and catch a few.. Never thought you would post  picture of rainbow!
