Since I find myself listing to books while riding, instead of music videos in my reports I will now start with a quote from what I was listening to.

"The lesson about wars that we never seem to learn, mainly that they never quite end." -John Gierach

I can came across a good deal the other day on a new St. Croix 7' 3wt and decided I need to go try it out in it's element. Ordered 3wt DT strung it up and hit the road. I needed a day to just zone out and only worry about how to fish the next pocket of water.

Upon arrival I noticed some recent logging activity, and hoped it hadn't affected the stream. But it didn't get to close to the water and didn't go to far up the hill. The water was lower than I was expecting, But not too bad. 3rd cast yielded a fish and from there on out, if the spot looked like it would hold a fish, it did.

Fished up until the water got real skinny, and turned out. It was warm the the heavy canopy kept it tolerable.

I loved the new rod, Great dry rod put will sling a heavy nymph 60ft before is peters out. Can't wait to take this ting out west for small stream cutts.

Fine brookies and sweet water.  'c;
My 7' 3 weight St.Croix is the best brook trout rod I've ever had. Da bomb.

GOPC had Imperials 40% off. $130. I got the 7' 3wt.  I still like my old Redington CT 2wt for brookies . But this rod is a little more versatile.

 It's good to see some brook trout.  'c;
