Commonalities with the celebrating masses, for me, are few this time of year.  I always turn out as a confused amalgamation of Scrooge and Saint Nicholas.  BUT, the kids keep me sane.  I do enjoy certain facets of the absurdity, like selecting a tree with the son, daughter-in-law, and grandboy. 

Add in the news that Miss America is a Hokie scientist – maybe this silly season will be notable.
