Wife and girls were out of town for a week so I had a weekend to plan fishing. I was planning on hitting the local river Saturday for carp but all the rain had it blown out. Decided I should take advantage of the morning and all this excess rain and hit a trout stream nearby. It was a good call. I've been worried about this stream the past couple year as every year I fish it, it gets worse and worse. Smaller fish, less numbers. Use to catch a 10" fish pretty regularly, and in the past 3 years I've maybe caught 1 or 2. Saturday showed me what that stream could do on a good day. Fished for 4 hours in the morning and caught easily over 100 fish. I couldn't believe how teeming with trout all the pools were so for an hour I decided to count the trout I caught. Caught 39 in an hour. And I wasn't even in the best stretch of the stream at that time. Also caught one that was around 11" mark. Dry/Dropper rig did the trick, with most of the fish coming off the dropper.

LoginThat fish was sitting right in front of the two rocks in the water in about 6" of water.
Then Sunday Doug and I decided to float the Jackson. Water was stained so we pretty much threw streamers all day. We both caught a fish. We both loss some nice fish. Fun float even if the catching was slow. Doug is getting better at rowing.

LoginThen around 1, the heavy rain came. We were getting slashes at the streamers at an okay pace, but after the rain came, fish activity went to 0.
