Muskie fishing in the back yard

Took a short float with a buddy to chase the bastards. I have never, ever seen the water so clear. It was almost a turquoise color which didn't help, that and the fact half the river was frozen. We could see the bottom the entire trip so basically we just marked ledges and other structure we never knew was there. We will wax some smallies there come spring.





I don't think it is deep enough....

Good friend of mine (guide) told his girlfriend he would marry her when he got his muskie on the fly. That was 8 years ago and are they married yet? Hell No  Food for thought. I have hooked em fishing for smallies, but have yet to land one either

Supafly got two this last summer....pretty nice fish and in a short amount of time.....little fugger!

I've been tying a few flies in hopes that Smokey will some day actually make use of that new 3 man toon and take my pitiful ass with them.

I'm gonna have to get into this. An elusive, ridiculously hard to catch fish that requires lots of new gear, and very low expectations of catching one..... That sounds like my thing. Looks like I'll be up yer way permanently in April. We'll have to go hammer some smallies at some point.
