Dimunitive Rainbow's were eager to attack any dry fly from Stimulators, Royal Wullfs to EHC!
I also caught a number of small browns.

This bow was the average for the stream. They would shoot out of the runs and grab the fly or rocket off the bottom 2 or 3 feet to smash the fly, sometimes they would drift back eyeing the offering before, after an painfully long wait, sipping the fly.

One of the larger fish caught, nothing over 12" but a number between 10 ~ 12

Somtimes just being there is good enough. What a bueaty of a day. You could fish or just stop and look at all the colors, the leaves were raining down on the water when the wind blew.

This was the biggest brown I caught, although I spotted on that was about 16" in the head of a run. I pulled two bows out of the tail but missed the brown at the head of the run and amost stepped on him as I moved upstream.

I think that thermometer has been stuck on 28 degrees since the Taft administration....it was actually about 45 degrees  ;D

The scenery was incredible.....fall colors were peaking

The fishing was incredible.....most of the fish were in the 6 to 10 inch range with a couple of dinks thrown in for good measure.  Some of the prettier ones:
