Ditched the wife, two year old, and two week old to hit a trout stream. Was greeted by this.

Talked to the landowner below (more on why later) and they said the guy that owns the land above next to the NF decided he needed some dough. Contracted a lumber company to cut his land and isn't replanting it. The nice landowner said whenever it rains, straight clay runoff flows right into the brookie stream. She has called and complained to every agency that would listen and no one seems to care. Said considering this is a heck of a stream.

Then I found out on the drive out that some douchebag in a Lexus started up the fire road, saw it was getting rough, and just parked his Lexus right in the middle of the frickin road! Hiked down to a house to talk to the landowner to see if she knew who it was. Really nice lady and showed me her cabin she and her late husband built. Then up the road....3 miles to find the owner of the Lexus. He had a man bun and was wearing waders, knew it would be fun. I stated my displeasure with being blocked in and he said, "You are interrupting my fishing". I am not a very violent man, but I about came one. Long story short, and an awkward 3 mile hike together down the mountain and the car was moved. Some redneck bear hunts were trying to get up the fire road as well and weren't too happy with the Lexus driver their.

NF section should be good because the logging stops right where NF section starts. That said, half of the Brook trout population in that stream is below on private property. Lady who owns land below said when it rains, a small trib of clay water rolls into the creek. I give it a year or two before the brookies cannot find gravel to reproduce in. She called forest services and VDOT and they didn't care. I gave her George Palmers info. Maybe he can pull a few strings.

Private landowner can def sue the other private landowner and/or lumber company (I'm assuming they did something wrong to cause run off).
