High up in the south.

Blue_Ridge_Angler and I have been talking for some time about getting together to fish his home waters. Things lined up this past Friday and I drove on down to the compound where we chatted for a while before twisting up a few girdlebugs to use on the local.

With the local grand slam to hand we were just about to quit when beer started raining down for the bridge above, Lurker "R" had tracked us down and brought us some cold beer, cheers!

That evening we settled down for a fine grilled chicken meal, with garden fresh salad and a batch of awesome mac-n-cheese. Then stayed up shooting the breeze and solving world problems.

The next morning, after breakfast, we headed up to the top of NC and hit the high elevation feeder creeks in search of some southern strain brook trout.

Lots of brookies, not too many of the bigger ones were brought to had, despite a number of hookups.

After going up two little creeks, we had to take a snad break before heading up number 3!

Okay, it was only around 4, but I was beat up and sore, so we called it a day and broke for beer before heading back down the mountain.

I left the compound as I had plans for the evening back home, which turned out pretty bad, taking a friend who was having a heart attack to the ER was not what I had anticipated.
No fishing Sunday...
Great report but that final photo needs a caption .....not sure what it should be?
Bummer about the heart attack.
Damn! Those are some beautiful creeks.
Look at bossman getting his small stream on -0-
Pretty work. Enjoyed it. Cool beard.
