This creek has gobbled up hours of my time on right many occasions. Lots of water.....and lots of work. Miles of unproductive riffles.....and some holes that are great, and deep and clear and beckoning.

Ya see, I've thought about many of the damned tough stretches to reach in here for many moons. A man has to put in work to reach anything here. Miles. You'll put in 6-7 miles of hiking in a day — minimum. This requires a vacant schedule, not just a quick hit.

A rainbow stream that holds a special place inside me. I've always caught fish. Nothing large. A couple miles in today, I altered my original mission. I'm damned glad, too, as some of the thoughts and wishes I've held inside are realized at this point.

Began casting after sliding down a steep bank to a nice looking pool. Third cast - fish. This was my first time fishing this stretch. Happy.

I reach a pool of impressive depth and size. Many of these in here.

I nymph it down deep a few times then I eff up and snag a limb. This pool deserves some meat. So, I oblige and give it to her.

Several casts and I'll be damned. Rod bendage. And not the usual 8" or less rainbow. This fish can fight. Bow down to the bow. A beautiful fish. One of my fave fish of all time that I've caught. Many more holes to dredge here. Maybe some real heavyweight wild fish to be tussled with after all.

After landing the pretty rainbow I had to backtrack to progress upstream as the pools were too large to go through or around. My net grabs some rhodo and then it floats downstream. I try and grab it quickly with my rod tip and wouldn't ya know it? I break another rod tip off. Love it. Until next time!

Go fish, dudes. And report!

Adios.

Good stuff! Well, except for the rod tip, that sucks-but, some great scenery and fine fish.
