LoginHad the itch yesterday and decided if I was going to fish, it had better be before this shit comes through rather than after. Once my wife got home I took off.

LoginLate as always. Also every warning light possible (it seems) is on in my old truck. Eh, fuck it, I'll fix it later (or not).

LoginI figured these had a few more trips in them. Note the custom twine laces; contact me for a pro-deal order.

LoginOnce I finally made it to the creek, I saw a nice little quill hatch coming off.

LoginSince I saw no surface activity, I figured I would nymph my way through the deeper runs. Settled on a #12 bh pheasant-tail (my personal fav, miss me with that hare's ear shit) since I figured the fish would be actively feeding. Since quills emerge as adults beneath the surface, I expected this to out perform stoneflies and streamers today. I was correct.

LoginOne of my favorite runs on this creek. I caught a nice one (18-20ish) last time here. Had to settle for the consolation prize this time, but he wasn't a slouch for this creek.

LoginTrout lilys are still a good week or two from blooming. They are in peak bloom below the mountain.

LoginOne of my favorites. If you haven't read up on skunk cabbage, I suggest you do so. Such a cool plant.
It has been 15 years since I last purchased waders. They have been pretty good ones, but for the last couple of years, I have stayed fairly "moist". I got plumb wet today. It's been real waders, but the time has come to part ways.
