Found this forum while looking for some info for some of the Robbinsville streams. My name is Chris and I've lived in Asheville for 4 years now. Ohio native but resident of AZ prior to WNC (11 years there). I got into fly fishing simply due to all of the backpacking I've done. My buddy was a trout guide for several years on the Togiak in AK so he showed me the ropes. Unfortunately I still suck but have a great time. Not a trophy fisherman at all. I am more into getting out to new areas and catching fish that don't see a lot of flies.
I work in medical device sales so I do a lot of driving. Now that I am a little more comfortable w/ my schedule, I've started taking my rod and some gear w/ me so I enjoy my time on the road.
In my free time I try to be outside as much as possible. Usually that involves a mountain bike or some running. Seems lately that means a lot more house work. However, tomorrow that means taking a buddy to show him how to cast on Curtis. My wife will be joining us and afterwards we plan on riding Kitsuma (near Ridgecrest on the 40). Should be a blast. Going to end the day w/ another mtn. biking friend and her boyfriend around the grill, hopefully w/ some smoothies (either good beer or bourbon).
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Nice to have you.
I too am an Asheville transplant of 4.5 years or so myself.
Welcome. What part of Ohio? I grew up in the metropolis of Tiffin ;D
the nasty nati! there are aspects of cincinnati i miss (skyline chili, graeters ice cream, larosa's pizza) but i am glad that i have experienced other places.
Welcome to the board. I matriculated (drank beer) at Miami U. So long ago that Bo Schembechler was the football coach.
Was it Heudepol or Schoenling we were drinking?
