Quick window to hit some stuff close by this AM. Shipped the wife and kid off and packed my shit. First stop was tough. Spooky fish, tough wading and alder choked. Saw some damn nice fish in deep pools, but couldnt get down to them for the minners attacking the nymph. Ended up catching one dink 3-4" and one nice fish. Missed another nice fish on a hopper, they wanted the hopper.

Walked out of that stream (pretty sure i have chiggers now) and went to another spot i wanted another shot at. Put on a heavily weighted rubber legs and let er drift.

12.5, 11, and 9 out of one long pool. Definetly gonna try this one again in October and see if theres a 14 swimming down deep. Not a bad Mundee.

Today i had a little more time than yesterday to check out a creek id been personally invited to fish by a landowner. Cant pass that up especially since that watershed is known to have browns down low and brookies up high. Water temp at 830am was 60. Upstream of where i parked is a 1/3 of a mile or so meadow section, so i tossed hopper dropper.

This one liked the hopper.

Others liked the dropper. Mostly cookie cutter wild browns with a couple dinks and several horney heads. I fished through the meadow stretch and the creek entered the woods and gained some gradient. Pools got bigger, so i switched to a streamer and things got good. Seemed like every good run had a fish rolling on the streamer, hookups were hard with all the overhanging limbs though.

Lost a 15-16 in a fast run and called it quits. Had a tailgate lunch of cold jerk chicken.
