One of my twin boys, John, has been battling a bit of the stomach bug lately.  Yesterday, he went nuclear in his drawers and the teachers sent him home.  School rules say you don't come back for 24 hours so John had to stay home while his brother and sister went to school today.  John wasn't too happy about being left behind, so I asked him if he wanted to go fishing.  He said yes.

So we packed up the truck...

We caught about a dozen or so under the bridge, but John didn't have much interest in handling one of them...

Not bad for a first fishing trip.

Right on Malcolm.  Getting the boy on the water is always the right choice.

That's awesome Malcolm.

His first fly rod and reel combo is nice enough to make me jealous.

Ben,
He'll have to wait for me to kick off first.  I'm partial to the TMF.

Cool tr with the little man

When my kids were in grade school I told them that they could skip school any day and we would go fishing! They both took me up on the offer several times
ex - I'm not going to live with you through one more fishing season!
me -There's a season?

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

raz

that was pure class!  i cry too when i lose fish.  ask tranny.

Michael Toris

Little glass rod would be a good kid rod. Easy to load and hard to break

flatlander

TF...yeah, he's not ready for casting yet.  I just let him play the fish.  I think getting them out and letting them explore is probably all they're ready for just now.

Beetle...we left a present for Josh in the trash can on the porch.  Should smell good by next week.
