Headed north to Shady Valley on Thursday.  Stopped on the way and fished a little creek for an hour or so.  Got my first trout in almost 2 years.

Noticed a dark cloud  and felt a couple a rain drops...  Decided to leave and set up the tent before dark and maybe avoid setting up in the rain.  Made it over the mountain and had the tent set up in time to notice this comin' over the mountain...

Fellers grab yer rain gear and stake down the tents.
While the wind wasn't as bad as year before last the Frog Strangler lasted @ 1 ½ hours...
Ain't a good PFF without some rain.

Friday 2 good (JT & Backwoods Joe) and 1 mediocre (me) fly anglers were humbled by the S. Holsten and Watauga.  After a bite to eat and a barley pop...  We headed back to Shady Valley.
The bite was on!!!
JT wid a beautiful Rainbow.

Joe with another.

Saturday, Backwoods Joe showed Muddler & me a new fishin' hole and Peddler, DD & Dick followed us on our expert navigational tour of the S. Holsten area.

DD wid one of them hard to hook willin' to bite Trout.

A few random thoughts from my feeble mind...

Nice to see friends I ain't seen in a while and meet new ones.
Big EGDs on the water.
Warmin' by the lantern Thursday evenin'.
Coffee, biscuits & gravy in the mornin'.
Tellico nymphs.
Bridge Fishin'.
Grab that tent and I'll get some stakes.
Flychamps and La Trucha having a Grand day catchin' fish.
Blackberry Stomp...  Thank you Padre (tres have` Marias were said).
Sick Duck calls in the early mornin'.
Fish bitin' itty bitty flys... Thanks fer the flys Creek Scum.
Pear stomp.   MMMM Good.
Flys comin' off the Beaverdam in the evenin'!!!

Brent G Memorial.   My eyes were to blurry and the lump in my throat wouldn't let me speak.
Met Brent for the first a few years back at the first Smallie Show and found a friend, brother, kindred spirit.  Was blessed to share a few meals, streams and campfires with Brent and his family..   He was always smiling, quick to lend a hand at whatever needed doing, share a fly or where and how to fish the water...  Gone but not forgotten....

Saturday nite by the fire.

These streams keep calling me.

Thanks fer all that put this one together!

Ain't Life Grand!!!

You would know about bottles....

We were talking about you and Rodger . .  Stomp vs. Scotch

Stomp won btw, you came in close second!

I hated to miss PFF this spring... damned if work don't keep gettin' in the way.....

Bought a bunch of new gear and just got back from the Bitterroots for a week and heading back in September... somebody's gotta do it, right???  It took a week to be reunited with my Powell... that was gut-wrenching.

When and where are we on for the Fall PFF?  My PFF sticker is looking pretty grim ... gotta get a new one in person.  I'll try to catch something next time.... :o

I am actually going to try to get my butt in some water this summer.  If y'all have anything happening within a few hours of Asheville give me a holler...

I miss y'all... can't wait to fish with y'all soon...

We never let little things like work interfere with PFF some of us have actually quit, been fired or turned down work just to attend the PFF.

We miss you too Peggy, but there was no talk about the Fall PFF at the last one. North / South thing.... last fall it was in Va, so I'm sure it will happen in early Oct. at the Appletree Campground on the Nantahala.... put in on your calendar!

Keep in touch, we do some smallie floats and wade fishing on the new, I've got two spare kayaks...

later....

My Daddy and I almost went to the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia but had to cancel at the last minute because they couldn't guarantee that he could be air-lifted out in a medical emergency.. he is 83 and had open heart surgery 18 months ago.... So, looks like we will be back in MT when the fall PFF is going on... not in cards this year sounds like...

Keep me in the loop... thanks!

What brought that about TM? How many PFFs have you attended? Everyone else that has posted to this thread did so based on first hand information.
