I tie a bunch of versions of basically the same fly, but I've started to settle into this one as my go to. Mostly in orange. Olive/black for grassies and dark bottoms.

#8 or 10 very heavy scud or bonefish hook
small dumbell eyes
antron underbody
crystal flash under rib
yellow, clear or olive vinyl rib
a little coffee grinder dub for the thorax
sloppy antron for the tail? wing?


The dub remix is basically the same but only uses the vinyl rib as a rib, instead of wrapping the entire body. Throw some rabbit, housecat, squirrel, antron and something flashy in the blender, and put it on a hook. Partridge legs complete the 'look what I found in the trash' look.
