Been exploring farther and farther upriver on quite possibly the best water i've ever seen for smallies. The sheer quantity of fish 20 inches or better is mind boggling, and this same river seems to be devoid of these monster fish in it's middle reaches. Perhaps pollution is the culprit, as the sections we have been hitting are above industrial facilities and are fed by many spring seeps. Been using gear or fly depending on the conditions. Saturday was stellar for Cary: :o

I was fishing mostly a cork popper today with some awesome results. This toad bit the size 6 blue miss prissy and took me for a ride. Say hello to my little friend

I spotted the biggest smallie iv'e ever seen today. It has got some inches on the fish posted above, and made me about shit my pants. I know where he is, and it's just a matter of time before I land him. I was talking with a local who showed me some pictures of a 6 pound smallie and an 8 pound largemouth he caught in this section of river. Needless to say, this place has got me stoked. Not bad for a "dink river". Ey mike, you convinced yet???? -0-
