Phil

A sunny afternoon with rain predicted for tomorrow and Thursday, so I had to get out. A quick drive to a different brookie stream than last week, and I was on the headwaters of a very small creek with a flat gradient and lots of underbrush. Very tight in places. I fished an hour and a half, caught five and lost four more due to my usual clumsiness. All punes, but I am embracing my place in life. Catcher of Punes.

All in all, an early afternoon well spent.

I would take those 365 days a year and keep a perma-grin on my face.

Good for you, Phil!

You can't land an otter on 7x. Now I know - Dougfish

Damn, it looks like I posted the same fish pic twice in different places in that report. I had others, but screwed up. Oh, well.

Thanks, JT.
I went back to the basics for small stream fishing (maybe partly after watching you over the years, I dunno). Ditched the studded soles and went back to felt soled boots. Ditched the 40 pound vest and net. Too many things to fumble around with. Carrying a little sling with one fly box, a bottle of Aquel, nips and forceps, spool of tippet. That's it.
