That's one of the species of Trillium that we have around here..That one has the dark red flowers I believe..
They also come on white, pink, and yellow if I'm not mistaken..

Thanks, BRA. Looks like thats the one. I just googled it and think its trillium cuneatum. It s funny how the camo effect made it stick out in the dead leaf clutter. I don't think I would have noticed it otherwise.

No problem man..They are everywhere on the upper home water..in a few more weeks they'll be in bloom..real cool plants..

AK aaron is almost certainly correct ... unless the flower is yellow which is pretty uncommon in nc but is common in tn
a land without trout ain't fit for human habitation

AK aaron is correct if the flower is red... there is a yellow species of sessile trillium but it is found mostly in tenn
