PFF v.34 (VFS Southern States style bake)
Yeah, that's right, number 34! Twice a year for 17 years, whether we need to or not. Little storm off the coast kept a few hunkered down home in the low country to look after their family and belongings.
Matthew – Cat 4, first major to inundate the Carolinas since Floyd in 1999 the year before the first gathering of the Psycho Fly Fishers in Shady Valley TN.

LoginCroaker was one of the unfortunates in the path of the storm and had to bail at the last minute, no low country boil this year. I stepped up and went shopping...
The first thing I noticed when I got my shopping buggy at the grocery store was that there was a cup holder mounted on the side, this required a trip to the Beer Den to get a pint of Stone IPA

LoginJust as I was getting ready to pitch my ten, my phone rang and Rhody said they were in the raft with Jack above the island and for me to come on up and fish with then as they pushed Jack around and would float back on the 4 o'clock dam release.. "We have beer!" That was all it took.
Motivated, I pushed my way up against the earlier pulse. Several times, I pauses and took a swig from the pint of All Day IPA and wondered why I was passing rising fish while enduring vapor lock. What the hell, I continued on against the flow. Hell, they weren't even waiting for me, they continued to push Jack and the damn raft further upstream. I was a daunting task to catch up to them while drinking a beer.
When I finally caught up to them I demanded a fresh cold beer. I was not denied.

LoginIn-between sulfurs and bwos a slight hatch and minor rise rise occurred. Most of us managed to pick off a few of the picky punes, but mostly I talked with Jack and drank beers while taking a few pics of the day. Clouds scudded across the sky and it rained a bit now and then.

LoginSince most of us were on KP duty and a generation was coming we pushed on back to camp as the water helped us along our way.
Slicing and dicing ensued and the result went into the pot for a fine meal on Staggering Red Beans and rice.
