Title: NC Delayed Harvest
Post by: LivinOnTheFly on November 08, 2009, 16:51:48 PM
Hit up one of NC's delayed harvest streams Friday. The weather was great and I brought alot of trout to the net making for a kick@ss day on the water. Got a few rainbows on a prince nymph, then I just started throwin wooly buggers through the deep holes. They were more than eager to chase the buggers! Ended the day with my first brook trout of the year. Too bad it was a stocker but it made me feel better haha. Sorry about the picture quality, all I had with me was my blackberry for pics.

nice day on the stream....

having a ghost net and then throwing the trouts on the ground are incongruous

UPDATE- Hit the stream again yesterday with a friend for a few hours. I tied up some Purina brown pellets that really seemed to do the trick!  ;D J/K. Caught mostly brookies this day with the last one being my best to date. ;hb They didn't put up much of a fight but we sure had a good time.

PS. I didn't "throw em on the ground" this time Bugger.

Nice Brookie!  Ive noticed the freshly stocked trout on the Smith will hit a pheasant tail more than anything else. Im sure it looks like a pellet to them.
