I wanted to hit a stream that had no trail, no pub. No people!
I had the one. I had fished a couple hundred yards of the headwaters a couple of years ago. Then J and I tried to kill each other by rappelling down a stupid steep slope without a rope. Fished the lower reaches before barely scrambling out before dark. I thought I was gonna leave a lung on the climb out. But decent fish were caught both times.
So I went back to investigate the middle. I spied the stream below but thought I would just drive a bit further to the original entrance. It is spring gobbler season. And I was on NF land for most of the time. So, lots of orange. And Corona scruffiness.

I hate to hike down along a stream.

Lots of wood to maneuver while trying not to spook every fish.
The topo showed a remnant of a logging road I could pick up after about 20 minutes. How far would it take me?

Well it took me about as far as I wanted to go today. But it looks like it crossed the stream, climbed the other side and petered out. b';
Right below me the stream fell off the mountain. :o
Serious work will need to be done. And a long day.

After a few pools of no strikes, I started to worry.
I had given this stream a 0% chance of a skunk.
Then little ones started coming to hand.

Little fish kept coming. It was a 4-6" brookie day.

I got to where I could angle up to the road without killing myself.
I'll come in at this point the next time.
About 15 cookie cutter fish. Meh. a few hours well spent distancing.
This section had more gradient than I thought, but it did not claim a carcass.
I'll drag back to finish up. Bigger fish leave below. :Dance

Most excellent work, Doug! 'c;
That's right at the edge of what I'm able to do anymore (and suffer through the knees and back the next day), looks like. :bow
Wow!
Thats some good looking water. I bet it will be on fire come May.

Agreed. It was May when I whacked it the first time.
Wow, that is a pretty stream.
You weren't kidding when you said there was some elevation gain in the middle. That stream never gets fished because its a pain to hike in and out of. Good choice!
:Dance
300 ft gained in 0.33 miles. Steeper in the next 0.33 miles down stream. :o
I woke up at 2am with a painful cramp in my hammy.
Nice Report, Doug ----The flicks of that creek make my back and legs hurt
