They finally stopped running 1600 - 2400 cfs alla time on the Watauga, so went "over the humps" to meet up with Gillman and fish some. We both caught about 5-6 fish each, nothing big for sure. All on wet fly with #18 scud droppers, all my fish on the scud/"trout crack" pattern, and most of Allen's on one that I gave him. (THANKS, Ralph!) All in all, good day fishing, mediocre day catching. Saw one BWO in the air, nothing else. The trouts weren't in a great mood.

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Go Phil and Gillman. I am sure it was a good weekend and you each caught some trouts. Heading out that way this week.
