Title: Lots of fishing, not mutch catching
Post by: Woolly Bugger on January 14, 2007, 00:14:56 AM
The Smith continues to be difficult. Ralph, Laurie, Tim, Kim and I hit the Special Regs section from the Mirror Plant Parking lot.
Nice day on the water with the temps in the mid to upper 60's, but that water was plenty cold.

My first fish of the day was spotting sipping BWO's or midges up against the bank in slow water.

Pretty fish Woolly. Glad to see you had some luck. They definitely get a lot tougher to fool this time of year.

You shoulda come on out to meet the gang, others were there too; Pee Wee was fishing the "Motown Hole" and Ben was OTS taking pictures and backing into my Miata!

I was disappointed that you hadn't come, trout-r, it would've done you good to meet some of us....and you could have helped us figure out the fish! Next time, I hope.
Btw- a fellow motored up on his three-wheeler to talk to Tim- reminded me of your post about being run off of Towne Creek. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same fellow.

It was a great day! (Aside from the excitement in the parking lot afterwards) Even though fishing was slow, FT got his first Smith trout, no one went home skunked, we "caught up" with Ben, and we spent a good day and great meal together. You can't ask for much more than that.

Glad to hear the fishing was slow....I was beginning to think it was just me!  Wish I could have made it, but the home improvement fairies are taking a four day weekend and I've got to pick up the slack  o-o

Excellent day even if the fishing was slow.  Got my Smith River skunk off, good dinner and conversation.   :)
