Title: The Fishes of Madison County

It's been a WHILE since I've been out anywhere close to a full day. I let my plans be known a week ago that I was goin fishin.....then it rained 47 inches in two days. No worries. I wasn't going to let a little high water get in my way. I've been wanting to check out some local bluelines, so that's what I did. They were blown the fuck up, but I found a couple that were still somewhat fishable, and I will be going back many, many more times. I love the scenery around here...always had a thing for barns.

I caught a fair amount of fish, and lost way more than I'm comfortable admitting(including a surprisingly large brookie), but these little fuckers are slippery. I guess I need a net. Had a hell of a time getting to the camera before they were long gone.

Is that a Gerber LMF?  If so how you like it?  I've heard good things about it.

What is the make of your fly rod?  I've never seen a hook keeper like that or I've just never paid much attention.

Hell to the CAPITAL Yes!!! That shit is awesome.

Big J---the knife is alright but it weighs about 20 pounds. It's great for chopping!!......but I'm pretty sure a hatchet would be lighter and smaller.

That rod is a scott, streamside custom. I've had it for a while, but i'm just getting around to fishing it since i broke my 4wt.

Nice report.  Been wanting to head one county up and fish up there myself.  Just been doing some armchair exploring for a future foray up in those parts.

Glad to see that rod getting a workout again. That Sage has seen a fair share of smallies, and even a few steelhead.

It's a sweet little rod. I can't believe it took me this long to actually string it up. It will get its fair share of playing time this spring and summer.

These were all within a 1/2 hour(I checked out 4). There are two green lines closer(like, just down the hill). They both get too warm to support trout for very long, so I'll likely bring home some dinner in April. Other than that though, they're dirty, on the road, and just don't seem to hold many fish of any kind. I'm thinking we should do a blueline and/or smallie bake here at some point.
