Title: Old Guy and the Young Cowboy

Since Spring PFF was cancelled, I needed to get out for some outdoor therapy. Hit the road in two cars with cowboy turned farmer/currently-unemployed guide Jesse, parked at the trailhead, and didn't go far before we saw the stream was clear but rolling at about a foot and a half above normal. It made for a tough day of dredging nymph tandems, but we did pretty well. Caught a lot of fish that didn't get on film, but it was a good day.

Fred -- trying to keep up with a 34 year old mountain goat like Jesse makes me feel old.  :o

Know what feels good? 4 years ago I wouldn't have been able to hike in and out, much less climb down and back up the banks multiple times. I wouldn't have been able to tie on any fly, much less re-rig tandem rigs multiple times. I wouldn't have been able to wade tricky water without slipping and falling multiple times.
Finally getting sober has been a good thing. I really liked (and needed) drinking, but finally couldn't do any of the other things I love. It's been a long strange trip back. </rant>

Nice work Phil.  And glad to see Jesse out fishing for trout.  Thought we loss him to red wigglers, perch and catfish.

Jesse's still doing both. Split personality, I guess.
