2017 – 34

Got off to a semi early start on my now annual James River Shad trip, itieuglyflies wanted to get an early start, so I was driving up the night before. Called the Driver to check on the white bass, "I'm going there now," he replied. Then this.

A bus had tangled with at least two cars and the outer left lanes were shut down backing up traffic for miles. That added an hour to the trip. When I got to the river, Driver was already slaying the bass.

I should have remembered to put on a sinking line, but I managed to catch a few, about one for every three or four that Driver was catching. Pink and white turned out to be right. It was time for me to hit the road, so I said goodbye and started wading out, but stopped and fished one last spot where three more came to hand.

Took some pics on the walk out.
