Another weekend and some part of the work week was spent harassing the local brookies populations in VA, not SNP this time, somewhere closer to home. All I can say is that their creeks are way outta control with brookies! I love it and I am very tempted to tell the boss where he can stick it and move up there and forget about my worldly woes...
Got up there in Saturday afternoon, met up with some friends and headed to some water at around 4PM. The creek we fished was more of a tail water fishery than anything else. Huge water for me, prolly 30ft across, didn't like that at all...

By accident, I found a cool mode on my waterproof camera, a panorama view where you take three pix and they hook up, sweet!

Sunday morning was cold, windy and fairly cloudy, weather doesn't bother me as much as a hangover so I geared up and hit a brookie stream about 12 miles from our campsite and we gave 'em hell for a few hours. Heres the evidence...

So after the brookie beat down, back to camp and it was my turn to show off the culinary skills. Lamb, Rib Eye steaks, Baked potatoes, toasted Italian Round loaf topped with brie and avocado and several beers.

Sunday, same deal, big hangover, windy, cloudy, and almost looking like rain, suited up and hit the creek we fished on Saturdays grand dad higher up... Brookies and bows this time and again, they took a beating...

My last fish of the day, a painted brookie male. Noticed that there were evry few yellow sallies and bwo's. Guess the low pressure system that was passing over caused this.
Today, I hit the same creek and got a major brookie skunk but picked up a dozen plus bows. Didn't know that misty, colder weather would cause brookies to hunker down like that, just goes toshow what a brookie deprived NC local I am :'(

That's good stuff. I gotta see this fancy new underwater camera. I have a feelings it's a cheapo in a ziploc bag.
